12 days of Christmas bloghop... my day 5

Well, today is the final day of the hop.  I am a little sad to see it go, but have to say- the mornings when I woke up early to get it done it was crazy.  BUT I was more productive.  hmmm... fair trade?  sure, we'll go with that!

So, I was going to insert a joke about a Christmas artichoke here because I made an ornament last night and the paper I used ended up looking like an artichoke.  I am not amused.  This is NOT my project however, so I'm seeing how many actually read my blog and see if they're just going to comment on this one picture.

I love that you're here. If you are here from Dena's blog, awesome- if not start from Lisa's blog here.  Because after this post, you're going to Ashley's Blog Here!

My project was really easy to do!  2 cricut cartridges, 3 minutes of my time.  Stocking stuffers totally taken care of.

What I used:
Cream colored card stock
Yuletide Joy by The Paper Studio
Cricut Cartridges:  Elegant Edges, Wedding
tacky glue
ATG gun
ribbon

How I did it:
Today's bloghop video

And the final day's question:  What is your traditional Christmas morning breakfast?  (Bonus if you put the recipe!)  I make my homemade cinnamon rolls, and I do a HUGE country breakfast, all homemade- sausage gravy, biscuits, grits, eggs, ham/bacon, hash brown casserole- it's yum!

The winner will be picked tonight and I'll contact you on your blog or email.  If I don't hear back within 24 hours, it goes to someone else, so stalk my blog people! (kidding, I'll post it around 8:00 central tonight)

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a blessed day, and enjoyed all of the projects that I had here for you. :)  More to come, just not in this rapid secession!

  1. Loved the pillow box and the great tutorial! The artichoke ornament is cute too! LOL I don't really have a traditional Christmas breakfast. {GASP} I know I suck! I do make shaped Christmas pancakes for my Grandson during the holiday season! Do I get points for that? LOL

  2. The top of your litttle ornament finds reminded me of a pine cone. That's the first thing that popped into my head when I saw it.
I love the cute little Pillow box. Thanks so much for the tutorial. Super cut and good idea to put the side with the notch in first. Much easier to get open.
My traditional Christmas breakfast is Lazy-Mans. I'm not sure if any of you have heard of those but what you do is you take a piece of bread and lightly butter it on both sides. Next you cut a hole into the middle of the piece of bread and put it one the frying pan and crack open an egg and put it on the hole. Cook to however you like your egg and enjoy. Its an easy way of making both toast and eggs without using the toaster. I love having that with bacon. Very yummy!

  3. Oops...i guess i don't get a chance in the blog candy, boo hoo. Not only do i not have a recipe to share, i don't do anything special for Christmas breakfast. i am very low key here. i love your projects...the ornament (choke, choke)looks great, and i know we are always more critical about our own projects than others are. Thanks for the tutorial i am looking for a good tape dispenser, the ones i have keep mucking up. And i was surprised you actually use glue. Thanks again for a sweet idea.

  6. Love your Pillow box!!! Your "artichoke" made me smile~as I've also made one .

    Chritmas breakfast~

    Monkey Bread

3 (12 ounce) packages refrigerated biscuit dough

    1 cup white sugar

    2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

    1/2 cup margarine

    1 cup packed brown sugar

    1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

    Directions
    1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease one 9 or 10 inch tube/Bundt® pan.
2.Mix white sugar and cinnamon in a plastic bag. Cut biscuits into quarters. Shake 6 to 8 biscuit pieces in the sugar cinnamon mix. Arrange pieces in the bottom of the prepared pan. Continue until all biscuits are coated and placed in pan. If using nuts and raisins, arrange them in and among the biscuit pieces as you go along.
3.In a small saucepan, melt the margarine with the brown sugar over medium heat. Boil for 1 minute. Pour over the biscuits.
4.Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 35 minutes. Let bread cool in pan for 10

  7. Ha! Ha! Checking to see if we read - Of course your ornament does not look like an Artichoke to me - and it would be fun to read your Artichoke joke as well. I watched your video on the pillow box - I like the Michael store Red Ribbon you purchased - you did a nice job wrapping it around the pillow box too! - and my son and grandson are the same way - really do not care how I wrap thing - they want what is inside. I do not make everything from scratch on Christmas Day but I do spice up my breakfast.

Christmas breakfast is grand at our home - especially if it is a year with my grandchildren. So I will give you my recipe(s).

I always make waffles - but I use Bisquick because it is the best ever for pancakes or waffles!
    1 Cup of Bisquick
3/4 to one Cup of Almond Milk (I check consistency and make it the way I feel works best in the waffle maker)
1 Tablespoon of Coconut oil melted
Spray Pam on heated waffle iron before pouring batter (about 1/4 cup of batter)
When serving, Pour on Real Maple Syrup! (My bother in law lives in the UP of Michigan and makes his own syrup every year)

Scrambled eggs: 6 eggs, 3 tablespoons of Almond Milk, a dash of Cayenne Pepper - mix in a bowl. Put Coconut oil in a non-stick fry pan on low heat - add eggs, and cook and stir until cooked as you like them - we have our eggs dry.

Divide on plate and top with shredded Cheese of your choice - I use Mozzarella or Colby-Jack

Marshmallow Cream and Peanut Butter Toasted pieces
    Toast Ezekiel bread in toaster
Spread one side with marshmallow cream and the other side with Peanut Butter
Make a sandwich of the two pieces and cut in fourths - yum, yum.

Hot Coco - I use Hershey's hot coco
    4 Cups of Almond Milk
    4 Tablespoons of Hot Cocoa
Stir in a saucepan until cocoa is dissolved and mixture is hot
Pour into individual cups and add 1 - 2 Tsp of Stevia for sweetness.

Enjoy your week! The hop has been fun!

  8. I love your pillow box tutorial, it is very easy and turns out pretty, and of course I love the artichoke:))) Merry Christmas:) I enjoyed your visit on the hop. For Christmas breakfast, we have left over meat pie. My meat pies are just chicken that simmers all day in broth and salt and pepper and onions and poultry seasoning, reduce it and bake in a pie shell, easy peasy.
